Himalayan shilajit gummies: why the source matters
Himalayan shilajit gummies use shilajit collected from high-altitude rock in the Himalayan range, delivered in a measured daily gummy. The word Himalayan on the label is not just geography. Where shilajit is collected, how high, and how it is purified are the three things that separate a serious product from a commodity one.
Why altitude matters
Shilajit forms slowly as plant matter breaks down inside rock over long stretches of time, and it is traditionally collected from steep, high-altitude faces (Carrasco-Gallardo et al., 2012). Collection sites far above farmland and roads sit away from agricultural runoff and traffic pollution, which is the practical reason high-altitude sourcing is prized. Ours is harvested above 18,000 feet.
What gold graded means
Traditional Ayurvedic practice grades shilajit into tiers by its source rock and character, and gold grade sits at the top of that traditional classification. It is a quality claim from tradition rather than a lab measurement, so treat it as one signal among several. A brand using genuine gold-grade shilajit should also be willing to tell you where it is collected and how it is processed.
Sun-dried, not rushed
After collection, raw shilajit has to be purified. The traditional method is slow: dissolving, filtering, and then drying in the sun over weeks. The shilajit in our gummies goes through a 45 to 70 day sun-drying process. Fast heat processing exists because it is cheap, not because it is better, and slow drying is the method the tradition itself calls for.
How to judge a Himalayan shilajit gummy
Four questions cut through most marketing. Does the brand state the collection region and altitude? Does it describe the purification method? Does it publish or provide contaminant testing? And does the label state exactly how much shilajit each gummy carries? Contaminant testing deserves special weight: a JAMA study of Ayurvedic products sold online found detectable lead, mercury, or arsenic in about one in five (Saper et al., 2008).
One gummy a day
Our Sundried Himalayan Shilajit Gummies hold 30 gummies per pouch, one per day, a full month per pouch. Gold graded, harvested above 18,000 feet, sun-dried 45 to 70 days. If you prefer raw resin, we compare the two formats honestly in shilajit gummies vs resin.
